WhatsApp’s long-awaited multiple accounts feature is now available on both Android and iPhone, making it easier for users to manage two WhatsApp accounts on a single phone.
Meta first announced the multiple accounts feature in 2023, allowing users to log in to two WhatsApp accounts at the same time without needing to log out, carry two phones, or use unofficial third-party apps. The feature was initially known mainly among Android users.
Now, WhatsApp has expanded the feature to iOS as well. iPhone users can also keep two WhatsApp accounts logged in on the same device, similar to Android users. This is especially useful for people who want to separate personal and business communication without using two phones.
How It Works
To add a second WhatsApp account, users need a second phone number and SIM, or a phone that supports multi-SIM or eSIM. After that, they can go to WhatsApp Settings and use the Add Account option to set up the second account.
Each account can have its own privacy and notification settings. This means users can manage work and personal messages separately while using the same WhatsApp app.
Why This Update Matters
Many people use separate numbers for personal and professional communication. Until now, some users had to carry two phones, use WhatsApp Business separately, or depend on phone cloning features. With official multiple account support, switching between accounts becomes easier and safer.
WhatsApp also reminds users to use only the official WhatsApp app and avoid fake or unofficial versions, as privacy and security are protected only when using the official app.
Availability
The feature is rolling out gradually, so it may not appear immediately for every user. Users should update WhatsApp from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to get the latest features.
With this update, WhatsApp becomes more convenient for users who manage multiple roles, businesses, or personal accounts from one smartphone.
